The 604 KASU Newscast: Arkansas Supreme Court Allows Resentencing Hearings for Juvenile Lifers

Here are the stories reported this morning:

  • JUVENILE LIFERS:  The Arkansas Supreme Court says that 7 inmates given life sentences as juveniles should be resentenced.  It comes after a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that juveniles cannot be sentenced to life in prison with parole. (Arkansas Public Media, Associated Press)
  • ASU-CQ DEDICATION:  Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, Arkansas State University officials, and Queretaro Governor Francisco Dominquez Servien participated in the dedication ceremony of A-State Campus Queretaro in Mexico yesterday. 215 students have been enrolled for its first semester.
  • SENATE WOMEN:  KUAR reports U.S. Senate Historian Dr. Donald Ritchie spoke yesterday about how former Senator Hattie Caraway set the standard for future women senators.  It was a part of a the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies’ Betsey Wright Distinguished Lecture Series in Little Rock.
