Arkansans Zach Williams, Jekalyn Carr win at 49th annual Dove Awards

Contemporary Christian musician Zach Williams of Jonesboro was named Artist of the Year at Tuesday night’s 49th annual Dove Awards ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee.  Williams took that top honor one year after being named New Artist of the Year last year. 

Williams’ song “Old Church Choir” was also named Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year at the show.

Jekalyn Carr of West Memphis won the first Dove Award of her career taking the Traditional Gospel Album of the Year honor for her CD titled “One Nation Under God.”

The Dove Awards are the top honors in the Christian music industry.  The awards ceremony will be broadcast on the TBN television network Sunday night at 8 PM.
