Committee Unveils Solution to Jonesboro Police Salary

The Police Officer Compensation Committee has a plan for addressing Jonesboro Police salary

Chairman of both the Officer Compensation and Public Safety Council Committees, Alderman Mitch Johnson briefly revealed the plan to the Jonesboro City Council at on Tuesday’s meeting. 

The plan would give step raises to officers’ salaries working various years on the job; capping at 20 years.  Media outlets report the salary plan would cost the city $852,006 to start.  Johnson called a special meeting of the Public Safety Committee to discuss the details of the plan. 

The meeting is set for Tuesday at 4:30.
