Frito-Lay is planning another expansion of their Jonesboro plant and has asked the city for financial help.

At a meeting with the Jonesboro City Council Finance Committee, Frito-Lay representatives asked the council for taxable revenue bonds of up to $150 million for the new project.  Frito-Lay in 2015 announced a $45 million expansion of their facility.

The company expects the expansion to be complete in 2018 and to create 30 new jobs.  No details have been released about the cost of the new expansion and how many jobs it could create.

The Jonesboro City Council will hold a public meeting to discuss the bonds on October 4.
