Jonesboro A&P Rejects O'Reilly Project Funding, Tables for 2017

Wikipedia.org

O’Reilly Hospitality Management has been rejected again for getting A&P funding for the Arkansas State University Hotel and Convention Center Project.

The Jonesboro Advertising and Promotions Commission held a special meeting Wednesday.  One of the items on the agenda was a letter submitted from O’Reilly requesting the commission to reconsider their Embassy Suites project under new terms.

The request was for a 3 percent rebate from hotel sales tax revenue for 5 years starting in 2018.  The Commission denied the request since they have already committed to funding the Keller Family Hyatt Hotel and Convention Center project.

In March, the Keller Family was awarded $300,000 in A&P funds for 3 years for the project located along I-555.

The Commission tabled the request until sometime in 2017.
