Labor Day 2016 in Arkansas is Full of Music, Food, & Fun: Episode 8/27

As you and your family celebrates a day off of work and school for Labor Day, how about taking a fun filled adventure in Arkansas.  Travel Writer Kim Williams highlights a few of the MANY things taking place for the holiday weekend.

Some of the activities include a Legendary Blues Festival in a city near the mighty Mississippi River, a giant picnic complete with a 5K and Oldies concert, and a one of a kind arts and crafts festival.

Also, don't forget about Davidsonville Historic State Park's 59 Years of Service: Legacy Week; a celebration of a park remembering a 200+ year old town essential to the Arkansas Territory and the events of the Louisiana Purchase.

Featured stops include Rector, Pocahontas, Helena, and Fairfield Bay.

A graduate of the radio-television program at A-State, Mark Smith earned his degree in broadcasting in 1986 and received a Master of Public Administration in 2015. He actually started in radio in 1982, just out of high school, with a part-time summer job at KBXM, a small AM station in Kennett, Mo. After his freshman year at Arkansas State, he landed another summer job at KBOA/KTMO in Kennett and continued to work weekends there while attending college.
