Local Tech Company Purchases Former Hays Clothing Store Building

A locally-based technology company specializing in solutions for correctional facilities is moving into the former location of Hays Clothing Store in Jonesboro.
Monday, Tech Friends, Inc. announced they have purchased the building at the Highland Drive-Caraway Road Intersection.  The building was the location of a Coca-Cola plant prior to being bought by Searcy-based Hays in late 2015.

Hays owners announced late November they would be closing all of their store locations this year to go into retirement, according to KAIT.  Haag-Brown Commercial and Real Estate Development told media outlets Wednesday a local tech company would take over the lease of the building at the end of the year.

Tech Friends president Bob Shipman said the company has 50 local jobs available currently, but intends to expand to 200 jobs over the next few years.
