A-State baseball to hold "Alumni Weekend" in October

The Arkansas State baseball program will hold its annual “Alumni Weekend” for former A-State baseball players and their families Oct. 2-3 in conjunction with the Red Wolves’ football homecoming festivities throughout the weekend.

Head coach Tommy Raffo and the rest of the A-State baseball program would like to encourage all former players and their families to come back and reconnect with their former teammates.

The weekend begins Friday night with a meet and greet at Jtown’s Grill in Jonesboro, which is located at 2610 E. Johnson Avenue or across the street from Centennial Bank Stadium.  The Red Wolves’ baseball program will provide complimentary light hors d’oeuvres and beverages as the event will allow former players to talk with former teammates and meet other A-State baseball alumni.

Saturday morning will provide the alumni to get a preview of the 2016 A-State baseball squad as the team officially starts fall practice with a scrimmage at 9 a.m. at Tomlinson Stadium.  Once the scrimmage is complete around 11:15 a.m. the annual “Alumni Home Run Derby” will begin.  After the completion of the home run derby there will be a tailgate for baseball alumni and their families leading up to the start of the homecoming football game versus Idaho at 6 p.m.
