The Arkansas State Police has inactivated an Amber Alert for 14-year-old Michael Brown.

According to earlier reports from the state police, Brown was reported to be asleep in the back seat of a 2005 Maroon Chevy Malibu at a gas station in Fort Smith.  As Brown's uncle went inside to pay for gas, the suspect got into the car and drove away with Brown in the back seat.

Brown is said to be with his father in Fayetteville.  According to several media outlets, Brown said he was never inside any vehicle asleep.   The car and the suspect were later found in Atkins.

An investigation is ongoing.
