Hefei Risever Machinery Co., Arkansas' 5th Chinese-headquartered company, broke ground on Friday, in the Northeast corner of the state. 

The ceremony took place at their new location—behind FMH Conveyors at the Craighead Technology Park in East Jonesboro.  Risever makes fabrication parts for various manufacturers, such as Caterpillar and Volvo. Back in 2017, Risever announced their plans to build their first North American plant in Jonesboro.

Over 1,200 new jobs come to Jonesboro last year.  Officials with Jonesboro Unlimited made that announcement Thursday.  Jonesboro Unlimited was created after a three-point-six million dollar fundraising campaign to attract new industry and jobs to Jonesboro.  2017 was the first year and an update on the effort was presented.  Chairman of Jonesboro Unlimited Chris Barber.

A campaign to attract more jobs to Jonesboro is underway.  Jonesboro Unlimited is starting a 5 year approach to economic development called Momentum Jonesboro.  The goal is to raise three-point-seven million dollars over the next five years to being more than five thousand high-paying jobs to Jonesboro.  Chairman of Jonesboro Unlimited Brad Edwards says the focus areas are for business attraction, talent attraction and community enhancement.
