Though the Trump administration is digging in it heals, refusing to give president-elect Joe Biden’s team some of the tools it requires for transition, Biden is forging ahead — particularly when it comes to the coronavirus pandemic. On Monday, he announced the members of his Transition COVID-19 Advisory Board.

Dr. Leana Wen writes in The Washington Post that Biden’s response cannot come soon enough. She says the first priority must be “to level with the American people” about the painful truths about the virus and the actions that people and government have to take.

Wen, an emergency physician and professor of public health at George Washington University, joins host Robin Young to talk about what the Biden team can do to turn the tide on the pandemic.
