How Susan Collins Retained Her Senate Seat

Pollsters were surprised when longtime Republican U.S. Senator Susan Collins of Maine handily beat her opponent, Democrat Sara Gideon. Collins had received criticism for supporting Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court and voting to acquit President Trump during his impeachment trial.
