In many parts of the country, COVID-19 patients are putting a strain on intensive care units.

To tackle the surge effectively, health care officials say hospitals in neighboring states need to work as a team when it comes to sharing resources and expertise. But as the Mountain West News Bureau’s Madelyn Beck explains, it’s not that simple.
