Jonesboro Police investigates first homicide of 2021

Jonesboro Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide that authorities say is the city's first homicide of the year.

On Thursday, officials posted on Facebook about the incident. It occurred on Wednesday night near Turtle Creek Road on the west side of the city.

A family-member flagged down a police officer for them to check on his mother and father in-law. Police found that the man’s in-laws, identified as Jerry Lamb, 65, and Deborah Lamb,63; were found dead in their home with apparent gunshot wounds.

Investigators believe Jerry killed his wife Deborah, then turned the gun on himself.

No other suspects are being sought out. The case is still under investigation.
