The Arkansas Department of Healh has advised customers who ate or drank at the Jordan's Kwik Stop at 7974 Highway 49 in Waldenburg in Poinsett County from March 14 -29 to consider getting a preventative vaccination, after an employee tested positive for Hepatitis A. A shot can help stop the contagious liver disease from developing.
Free vaccines will be available from 7:30am to 5:30pm on Monday April 8 at the County Health Units in Harrisburg, Marked Tree and Trumann, and at the former Josie's Steak House building at 7974 Highway 49 in Waldenburg.
Hepatitis A scares have been occurring on a regular basis around Northeast Arkansas in restaurants and convenience stores since Feb. 2018.
