KASU, public media at Arkansas State University, postponed its spring fundraising activities to focus on the news and information our community needed. As Jonesboro heals from the devastating tornado of Saturday, March 28, and continues to grapple with the COVID-19 outbreak, KASU has worked to provide updates on the tornado recovery efforts, along with the latest information on the pandemic response measures being taken on the state and local level.
As a nonprofit organization we must also take care of our expenses, so we have decided to have our official Spring Fundraiser May 18 to June 1. This will be a different kind of fundraiser--no breaking into programming and no encouragement to call the station because most of the KASU’s staff is working from home. Hopefully, this different fundraiser will help make it known to our community that we need funds to continue to pay for the programming that we broadcast to you every minute of every day.
Know how much we appreciate those of you who have already contributed--either as a sustainer or during this postponement. Also, know that we understand the financial difficulties that many in our community are facing, and we are only asking those who CAN contribute to do so at this time. If you cannot contribute during this Spring Fundraiser, hopefully you can come back and contribute in the Fall Fundraiser. All contributions will need to be made online: go to kasu.org/give.
If I can be of any further assistance, you can email me at kcates@astate.edu, or you can leave me a message at 870-972-3486. I will return your call as soon as I can. We could not exist without the contributions of our listeners. Thank you for your continued and unabated support!
Thanks!
