Russian pianist Alexander Kobrin, 25, won the 12th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in Fort Worth, Texas.

Russian pianist Alexander Kobrin took home the gold medal at the 12th Van Cliburn Piano Competition in Fort Worth, Texas, last week.

A graduate student at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, 25-year-old Kobrin won first prize the Busoni Competition in 1999 and second prize at the Hamamatsu Competition in 2003.
