Meet Dr. Katherine Baker!

She's with the Department of Art and Design at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, and is one of the presenters on a new feature on KASU titled ‘What Am I Looking At.’

Each Wednesday afternoon at 4:44 and each Sunday morning at 8:35, you’ll hear insights into works of art that are in some ways unusual, sometimes strange, and sometimes hard to understand.

Her bio on astate.edu reads:
"Katherine Baker received her Ph.D. in art history at the University of Virginia in 2013. A research fellow at Institut national d'histoire de l'art, first through a Kress Institutional Fellowship and later as a chercheure accueilli, she completed a dissertation on collaborative making in Paris around 1500 while in residence. With a particular interest in what the archival record can tell us about lost artistic production, her current project examines the estate inventory of Chicart Bailly, a Parisian tabletier from the early 16th century. Select discoveries from this document were recently highlighted in the exhibition and accompanying volume The Ivory Mirror: The Art of Morality in Renaissance Europe, with a more comprehensive examination of the document – including an annotated translation – to appear in her book."

Join her and her co-host, Dr. Temma Balducci, for this exploration of the visual on your radio.

Catch "What Am I Looking At?" on Wednesdays at 4:44 p.m. and on Sundays at 8:35 a.m. on KASU.
