Arkansas Reacts to Orlando Mass Shooting

Arkansas joins the rest of the nation in reacting to Sunday’s shooting massacre in Orlando, FL at a Gay nightclub.  Senator John Boozman (R-AR) called the shooting a form of radical Islamic terrorism and as an “attack on our freedoms.”

He said the country should “do whatever it takes to destroy ISIS using whatever means possible to protect Americans at home and abroad.”

Here's Boozman's full official statement:

I join every American in mourning for the victims of this horrific act of terror. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of the victims. ISIS and radical Islamic terrorists have repeatedly called on supporters to attack Americans here at home. This act of terrorism is an attack on our freedoms. Our country must have the resolve to defeat ISIS. As a country we need to do whatever it takes to destroy ISIS using whatever means possible to protect Americans at home and abroad.

Here at Arkansas State University, a candlelight vigil is scheduled Monday night at 7 in remembrance of the victims of the mass shooting.

It will be at the A-State Multicultural Center.
