This is A-State Connections on KASU. I’m Johnathan Reaves. The Arkansas State University Departments of English and Art and Design are pairing up on the National Day on Writing. The event will be held on Monday, October 21st with a game called Exquisite Corpse, as well as Letters to Strangers. Exquisite Corps is a game where different people work together to create a figure drawing without knowing what others have contributed. Letters to Strangers is where students will write letters of support for those with mental illness. These activities will be held from nine to one Monday in the Atrium of the Humanities and Social Sciences Building at A-State. Telling us more about this is Professor of Art History and chair of the Department of Art and Design is Dr. Temma Balducci, Instructor of English is Kerri Bennett, Director of the Writing Center is Tabatha Simpson-Farrow, and Director of First Year Writing is Elizabeth Chamberlain. Bennett started the National Day on Writing festivities at A-State and tells what it is. Click on the Listen button for the entire interview.
