A-State Women’s Business Leadership Conference Postponed

JONESBORO – Arkansas State University’s sixth annual Neil Griffin College of Business Women’s Business Leadership Conference has been postponed as part of the university’s coronavirus response planning, according to Dr. Patricia Robertson, faculty coordinator for the Women’s Business Leadership Center and business law professor.

Robertson said the free conference, originally scheduled for Thursday, April 2, in Centennial Hall of the Carl R. Reng Student Union, will be rescheduled some time during the 2020 fall semester or spring 2021. The new date and event schedule will be announced once it has been determined.

“Due to risks of large crowds associated the potential spread of coronavirus, we are postponing the conference” said Robertson. “We apologize for any inconvenience, and are looking forward to hosting the event later.”

The conference is a forum for leadership and professional development created to inspire and motivate women in the business community. The one-day conference, attended by hundreds or participants always features keynote addresses by female leaders, holds workshops designed to hone skills in key areas, and provides interactive discussions to engage students and professionals on important issues.

The Women’s Business Leadership Center is the only one of its type in the state of Arkansas and the Delta region. It is dedicated to promoting leadership and achievement among the young women of Arkansas. The Founder’s Circle, a group of 30 successful professional women, committed financial resources and time to serve as mentors and advisers to young women.
