L.J. Bryant is now the new Ward 5, Position 1 councilman. He was selected out of a group of 8 applicants for the position at Tuesday night's city council meeting.
Each applicant was given a chance to address the full council at the meeting.
The city council accepted applications to fill the seat vacated by Darrel Dover. Dover announced in July that he would be stepping down after serving 14 years on the council to move to northwest Arkansas with his wife.
Dover's replacement will complete his term which expires December 31, 2018.
