Hardy Mayor Announces Resignation

The mayor of Hardy has announced her resignation.  

According to the Main Street Hardy website, Mayor Nina Thornton verbally announced her resignation at on Tuesday night’s city council meeting. 

KAIT-TV reports Thornton resigned because of an illness, according to Police Chief Scott Rose.  Her final day in office is July 31.

He moved to Stuttgart, Arkansas and worked for East Arkansas Broadcasters as news director and was there for 16 years.
