September 11, 2001. Everyone who remembers that day has a story to tell. Where they were…how that day was for them…their thoughts on what happened when the twin towers fell in New York City. A Blytheville native who now lives in Little Rock was just yards away from the Twin Towers that morning and witnessed events first hand. Last week, Reverend Dr. Stuart Hoke talked to a teacher education class at Arkansas State about his story. For this interview, KASU's Johnathan Reaves talked with Sandra Hawkins. She is an instructor in the Department of Teacher Education and is Teacher Education Coordinator with the Arkansas Delta Training and Education Consortium. At that time, Reverend Dr. Hoke was the leader and priest of the Manhattan Trinity Episcopal Church, which was located a block from the twin towers. Reaves asked Hawkins about the class that did the research on September 11th and heard Dr. Hoke’s story. Click on the Listen button for more.
