Monday is the final day to vote early in November election runoffs in Arkansas.
Jennifer Clack, Craighead County Election Coordinator, said that before the Thanksgiving holiday on Wednesday, 830 people had participated during early voting at the Jonesboro election annex, while 10 voted at the Lake City Courthouse.
Polls in Arkansas open at 8 A.M. and will close at 5 P.M.
Runoffs in the county include the race for Jonesboro City Clerk between Linda Allison and April Leggett. On November 3, neither Allison nor Leggett received more than 50% of the vote.
Unofficial totals from the Secretary of State's office showed that Allison received 48.31% (11,894) of the vote, while Leggett earned 37.01% (9,111).
Meanwhile, KAIT reports that there are other runoff races occurring across Northeast Arkansas. Some of those races include:
- Trumann City Council Ward 3, Position 2 - Jay Paul Woods, Tammie Slinkard
- Luxora City Council Ward 2, Position 1 - Billie Fernandez, Emma Jackson
- Forrest City City Council Ward 3, Position 2 - Frank L. Shaw, Danny Capps
- Stone County Justice of the Peace for District 2 - Chip Doss, Travis Trammell
- Bald Knob City Council Ward 2, Position 2 - Ella White , Tammy Pitcher McConnell
- Bald Knob City Council Ward 3, Position 2 - Mary Lou Smith, Alvin Hearyman
- Beebe City Council Ward 3, Position 2 - Wes McAfee, Shannon Woods
Election day is Tuesday, December 1 with polls opening from 7:30 A.M. until 7:30 P.M at all of Craighead County's voting locations.
