Baking, Bicyling, and Beer -11/5 Weekend

The first weekend in November is full of fun events for kids and adults! There's baking workshops for those who love to eat, bicycle tours for cyclists, and many festivals!

Travel writer Kim Williams talks about some of the fun events happening across Arkansas this weekend, including a workshop teaching you to make delicious desserts in a hot dutch oven.  Williams also talks about an exciting 52-mile bicycle ride through the sunken lands of Arkansas.

Williams has information on family-friendly events, such as a pioneer festival and a weekend-long celebration.

For those who want to leave the kids at home, Williams tells us about an "Ale Run" with beer and a party for a cause.

Featured stops in this episode include Black Rock, Lake Charles State Park, Searcy, Little Rock, and more.

A graduate of the radio-television program at A-State, Mark Smith earned his degree in broadcasting in 1986 and received a Master of Public Administration in 2015. He actually started in radio in 1982, just out of high school, with a part-time summer job at KBXM, a small AM station in Kennett, Mo. After his freshman year at Arkansas State, he landed another summer job at KBOA/KTMO in Kennett and continued to work weekends there while attending college.
