A graduate of Little Rock Central High School, Patel attended the University of Central of Arkansas, where he graduated with a major in English and a minor in journalism in spring 2021. After six months there, he was hired at the statewide Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, where he wrote feature pieces, season previews for the local high school sports and helped write the Downtown Little Rock guide.
Despite working in print, Patel has always been a fan of broadcast and Steve Inskeep is one of his favorite political reporters.
Outside of work, Patel enjoys watching basketball, either the Milwaukee Bucks or the UCA Bears.
