Authorities search for escaped juvenile from Poinsett County

Maranda Davidson, 15, escaped on Monday from the Rite of Passage youth detention center in Harrisburg.

Authorities in Poinsett County are searching for a teenage girl who escaped from a youth detention center in Harrisburg.

The Harrisburg Police Department posted on Facebook Monday to be on the lookout for 15-year-old Maranda Davidson. Davidson was last seen Monday evening running northbound from the facility.

She's around 5-feet tall, weighs around 100 pounds, and was wearing a grey rite of passage sweatshirt and black sweat pants.

Police Chief Roderick Moore told KAIT Davidson was headed towards Jonesboro.

Anyone with information on her is encouraged to call the police or the sheriff's office.
