Google is expected to launch a partnership next year with Citigroup to offer checking accounts through its Google Pay app.
It’s the latest move into financial services from a Silicon Valley giant, following Facebook’s development of a digital currency, credit cards from the likes of Apple and Venmo, and Amazon reportedly in talks to offer its own checking accounts.
