Solar project in Jackson County seeks 200 workers

A Florida-based solar construction company is looking to hire 200 people to help build a massive solar farm in Northeast Arkansas.

The Newport Economic Development Commission announced on Friday that Moss Solar will gradually offer the jobs with the goal to construct a 1,900 acre solar farm in Jackson County. Officials say they are looking for experienced equipment operators, people with construction experience, and laborers.

The commission says Moss is a Second Chance employer - meaning they will hire people who have had a felony conviction. They are also willing to train inexperienced applicants in construction skills.

Moss is expected to begin hiring at least 10 people in June.

To apply for the job, visit their website here or visit their project site at 746 Jackson 42, Newport, AR 72112.
