Agriculture school in Weiner in the works

Plans to place an agricultural school in Weiner continue to move forward.   The Sun newspaper reports that residents are working with the Arkansas Department of Education, the Department of Career Tech Education and the attorney general’s office to see how recently passed bills could apply to the school.

Greta Greeno says School of Agriculture would be the first in the state that would prepare those who graduate for agriculture-related jobs in the Delta.  The school would be kindergarten through 12th grade.  Ag jobs make up about one-quarter of available jobs in the state.  Greeno hopes to have the school up and running next fall.
