Local musicians go head-to-head at the Battle of the Bands finale in Pocahontas

Randolph County Chamber of Commerce

Several months ago, a couple of folks in Pocahontas appeared on Arkansas Roots to talk about some events that have been going on in that Community. Those events have culminated with Battle of the Bands finale at the Rendezvous Event Center in downtown Pocahontas.

Arkansas Roots' Marty Scarbrough spoke to Cally Shore and Bobby Adams ahead of the event. Shore is the executive director of the Randolph County Chamber of Commerce, and Adams is the owner of the Rendezvous Event Center, the location of the finale.

Marty Scarbrough has worked at KASU since 1992, and he serves as program director, overseeing the station’s content. Marty is a graduate of Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky, and he has produced and hosted programs of classical music, jazz, bluegrass, and blues music. He also oversees KASU’s Bluegrass Monday concert series. When not at work, Marty loves spending time with his wife and his three sons, and he enjoys attending concerts of many different styles of music.
