Stringbands, groups made up of musicians playing string instruments such as guitars and fiddles, are the foundation of the musical culture in the Ozarks. The Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View recognizes that rich history with the Stringband Music and Arts Festival.

Arkansas Roots' Marty Scarbrough speaks to Keith Symanowitz, the Promotions Director of the Ozark Folk Center, about the music and art for the two-day festival. More details about the festival can be found here.

Marty Scarbrough has worked at KASU since 1992, and he serves as program director, overseeing the station’s content.
