Black River Technical College (BRTC), in collaboration with First Horizon Bank, and the Eddie Mae Herron Center/Museum will host a Black History Month event at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 7 at the Randolph County Development Center on the Pocahontas BRTC campus, located at 1410 Hwy. 304 East. This year’s Black History Month Event will feature two one-man-shows, Starry Road to Freedom, performed by Darius Wallace, and Live Rich, or Die Poor, performed by Ann Perry Wallace.

AUDITIONSAuditions will take place March 31st and April 1st at 6:30 pm at Sue's Kitchen Express. Please note your conflicts on your audition form. Our goal is to work around your summer plans.The Center Stage Production team provides a safe and encouraging environment during the audition process. We will take time to review some of the songs, discuss the characters and take the time needed to explain the audition process.
AUDITION MATERIALSAuditionees will participate in a singing audition for singing roles. For the singing auditions, please prepare a 16-32 bar cut of a piece in the style of the show- Can be from the show, a pop/rock, or a gospel song. In the audition, you will be asked to read from the sides provided in the audition packet (does not need to be memorized). If called back for a dancer, you will be taught a dance combination from one of the production numbers from the show on Sunday at callbacks. Please familiarize yourself with the story of the show, the cast of characters, and musical selections prior to auditions so that you feel confident!

Legal Aid of Arkansas is organizing an estate planning clinic in Trumann, AR to help with disaster preparedness in response to the Dec. 2021 tornados. We will be drafting last wills, beneficiary deeds, powers of attorney, and living wills at no cost for members of the public, regardless of income.

Veterans of Foreign Wars- District 4 will be holding a recruitment drive to find local war veterans interested in joining any of the area's VFW posts. Donations from the public also will be accepted.

— Black River Technical College (BRTC) will host the third event in the First Horizon Lecture Series at 6:30 p.m. on April 24 at the Randolph County Development Center. Associate Professor of Finance Dr. Chris Lawrey from the University of South Alabama will present “Cryptos! Ready or Not! Here They Come!” The event is free and open to the public.

On Friday, May 19th we will be hosting an author event in the Round Room. The event starts at 5:30PM and will be followed by a general Q&A session. All are welcome to attend. The visiting author will be Thanhhà Lại, a Vietnamese-American children's author who has won a National Book Award and a Newbery Honor for her debut novel, "Inside Out & Back Again". Thanhhà will be on a book tour in May to promote the sequel to her debut novel, "When Clouds Touch Us", and will be discussing her work and life experience as a Vietnamese refugee.
On Saturday, May 20th we will be holding our first Asian Pacific American Heritage Festival! The festival will be held from 10AM to 2PM. We'll have art and food vendors, as well as fun activities for the whole family to enjoy. There will be karate and jiu jitsu sessions, a cosplay contest, and more!

An event for both local veterans and the public at large, raising awareness of local veterans organizations and other resources for veterans. Event will include live music, car show, food trucks and other vendors. Admission is free to the public from 8am until 4pm. Registration of car show entries will be from 8am until noon and will be $10.
