Google to visit Jonesboro as part of national program to teach digital job hunting, marketing skills

Google will host free ‘Grow with Google’ workshops in Jonesboro on June 21st beginning at 9:30am at the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library. The tech company’s economic opportunity initiative aims to help job seekers and small businesses learn the digital skills they need to succeed through onsite instructional training led by visiting Google teams, presenters and coaches.

The workshops in Jonesboro at Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library are part of a national digital skills workshop tour in partnership with America’s libraries which Google plans to bring to all 50 states. After the initial visit, Google will invest in resources to support libraries’ digital skills offerings on an ongoing basis. Three quarters of public libraries assist patrons with job applications and interviewing skills, and 90% offer basic digital skills training.
