This Saturday, the town of Wilson will unveil a historical marker at the former site of the Wilson Trade School, located at Hudson Wren Memorial Park. The event takes place at 10:30 a.m. The school ran from 1925 to 1970 and provided state-of-the-art facilities to African-Americans living in Wilson. Dr. Jeannie Whayne, professor of history at the University of Arkansas, talks with KASU News Director Johnathan Reaves about the significance of the school, its impact on the region, and why the story of the school is relevant today.
Here is where you can find news about Jonesboro, Craighead County, and Arkansas at large, as well as news for Missouri and Tennessee.
