Hutchinson, Flags at Half Staff for Baton Rouge Officers

After the ambush of 3 police officers in Baton Rouge on Sunday, LA, Pres. Barack Obama issued a presidential proclamation for American flags to be flown at half-staff in their memory.

On Tuesday, Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson also issued a proclamation that the Arkansas state flag also gets flown at half-staff in the officers memory.

Hutchinson released the following statement in regards to Sunday's attack:

“Our hearts are with Louisiana, our neighbor and friend, in the wake of the shootings in Baton Rouge, which resulted in the deaths of three police officers. The murder of those who risk their lives to protect their fellow citizens is appalling. Join me in praying for the families of those killed and injured and for our nation as we seek to unify in the effort to keep these senseless tragedies from persisting.”

Both flags are to remain at half staff until sunset Friday.
