Fayetteville remembers slain officer Stephen Carr

A public funeral for slain Fayetteville officer Stephen Carr was held on Thursday (December 12) at Bud Walton Arena.

Carr, 27, was fatally shot on Saturday (December 7) while sitting in his patrol vehicle.  Governor Asa Hutchinson had order flags to be flown at half-staff across Arkansas in Carr’s memory until his funeral.

Residents in Fayettville also remembered the life of Carr during a candlelight vigil on Tuesday.

The alleged gunman was identified as London Phillips.  Phillips, 35, was shot and killed by two officers.  The officers are on paid administrative leave as the investigation is ongoing.
