A public meeting on developing the “Railroad Corridor” from Aggie Road at Arkansas State University to Riceland Foods will be held this afternoon.
The City of Jonesboro will use the input from citizens to apply for a “Brownfield” grant with Environmental Protection Agency to use towards the project.
Facilitators for the meeting include representatives from the EPA, the University of Memphis School of Architecture, Kansas State University’s Technical Assistance to Brownfields, and various city departments. Mayor Herold Perrin said in a statement the corridor will “create jobs and sustainability” for the city.
The meeting will be held in the first floor lobby of the Municipal Building at 5:30.
