Last Day for Missourians to Apply for Flood Disaster Aid
The deadline for Missourians affected by winter flooding early in the year is today.
KOLR-TV reports that 33 counties have been approved for individual assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Scott County in the KASU listening area is the only county to have been granted assistance.
Officials say FEMA has approved over $75 million to go toward disaster victims. FEMA urges residents to apply even if they are not sure if they qualify. Residents have until the end of the day to register at disasterassistance.gov.
The Associated Press reports the grants help victims pay for home repairs, receive temporary rental assistance, and fund other needs caused by the 3 days of heavy rain in December.
