- WARD MEETINGS: Jonesboro City Officials are conducting the first of 3 ward meetings tonight. Tonight’s meeting will be for residents in Ward 1 and 2. Residents will meet with the aldermen from the ward and Mayor Harold Perrin to discuss the future of the city. It will be at 6:00 p.m. at the Parker Park Community Center.
- DELTA AUTHORITY: (by the Associated Press) The White House has nominated a member of U.S. Sen. John Boozman's staff to serve as co-chairman of the Delta Regional Authority. Officials announced the nomination Wednesday of Chris Caldwell, who now serves as director of special projects for Boozman. The Delta Regional Authority is a federal-state partnership that works to improve regional economic opportunity in the Mississippi River Delta region.
- BAXTER COUNTY JAIL: (by the Associated Press) Voters in Baxter County have approved two sales tax measures that will expand the county jail and fund Mountain Home's fire and police departments. Voters on Tuesday approved an eight-month, 1 percent sales tax that will pay for 50 new beds at the Baxter County jail, along with a 0.25 percent sales tax to pay for maintenance and operation at the jail. In Mountain Home, voters approved a 0.375 percent sales tax that will support police and fire departments in the city
