Governor Asa Hutchinson Appoints 7 Locals

Governor Asa Hutchinson announces 49 state appointments with 7 appointments coming from the KASU listening area.  Hutchinson released his appointments Friday evening. 

From Jonesboro, Dr. Brad Erney replaced Sabra Miller on the Arkansas Board of Health Education, Andrea Walker was reappointed to the Arkansas Access to Justice Commission, Dr. Mark Reiner replaced Dr. Harvey Brown on the Arkansas Board of Podiatric Medicine, and Keith Chrestman replaced Justice Karen Baker as a Special Associate Justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court. 

Other local appointment include, Bishop Gregory Brown of Osceola reappointed to the Arkansas Veterans’ Commission, Earl Owens of Walnut Ridge replacing Christopher Jones on the Arkansas Fire Protection Services Board, and Judge Rusty McMillon of Paragould replacing Kasey Summerville to the Arkansas Geographic Information Systems Board.

Steve Rogers, Russellville, to the Arkansas Entertainers Hall of Fame Board.  Appointment expires September 1, 2021.  Replaces Kathy Wheatley.

Roy Wert, Menifee, to the Arkansas Entertainers Hall of Fame Board.  Appointment expires September 1, 2021.  Replaces Susan Altrui.

Tony Warner, Malvern, to the Arkansas Entertainers Hall of Fame Board.  Appointment expires September 1, 2019.  Replaces Charles Dodson.

Rudy Ortiz, Scott, to the Minority Business Advisory Council.  Appointment expires at the Will of the Governor.

Sylvester Smith, Camden, to the State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors.  Appointment expires June 1, 2018.  Replaces Jerry Adams.

Debra Hurd, Fayetteville, to the Arkansas Social Work Licensing Board.  Appointment expires June 30, 2018.  Replaces Laura Printz.

Dr. Leigh Anne Bennett, Little Rock, to the Arkansas Social Work Licensing Board.  Appointment expires June 30, 2018.  Reappointment.

Dr. Meenakshi Budhraja, Little Rock, to the Arkansas Social Work Licensing Board.  Appointment expires June 30, 2018.  Reappointment.

Bennett Downs, Bryant, to the Arkansas State Respiratory Care Examining Committee.  Appointment expires August 7, 2018.  Reappointment.
