A study filed with federal regulators today alleges that wholesale electricity suppliers overcharged California by $6 billion in the last year. On July 29, 1967, 134 U.S. sailors were killed aboard the USS Forrestal in Vietnam's Gulf of Tonkin. They fought a fire that threatened to destroy the ship and the 6,000 men aboard. On Weekend Edition Saturday, Scott Simon talks to the author of a new book about the fire.

Employers added 75,000 jobs in May, the Labor Department reports. It was the smallest increase since October 2005. At the same time, the nation's unemployment rate dipped to 4.6 percent, its lowest reading since the summer of 2001.

At Roosevelt High School in Seattle, teachers are using a new science curriculum called the Inquiry Method to teach biology. It's supposed to inspire curiosity -- sometimes at the expense of memorization of facts.
