The use of marijuana for PTSD has gained national attention in the past few years as thousands of traumatized veterans who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan have asked the federal government to give them access to the drug. Violence continues in the young country of South Sudan, which gained independence in 2011. An estimated 1,000 people have been killed and tens of thousands uprooted. On Tuesday, the United Nations voted to send thousands more peacekeepers there.
