KASU's Spring Spectacular

KASU Spring Spectacular

KASU’s Spring Spectacular Event will be Thursday, March 7, in the Dean B. Ellis Arkansas State University Library Flag Lobby.  We will spotlight the music, news, arts and views provided by spectacular listeners who support our spectacular staff and original programs.  The Spectacular Spring Event will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.  If you would like to have reserved parking behind the library, contact Doreen Selden at dselden@astate.edu.  Light refreshments and spectacular acoustic music from Cory Jackson, 2018 Arkansas Country Music Association artist of the year, will be provided.
KASU’s Spring Spectacular will be showcasing our contributors.  Since we are partners in this public radio station, we hope to record testimonials from you about why you support KASU.  We will have a recorder ready to tape your testimonials to air during our Spring Fundraiser that begins March 25.  We hope this event will help warm the soil and grow new contributors.  However, this is much more than a fundraising event.
KASU’s Spring Spectacular will be celebrating five years of Arkansas Roots, an original program showcasing Arkansas musicians from a variety of genres and hosted by Marty Scarbrough and Mike Doyle.  For the first time ever, stylish t-shirts and caps with the new Arkansas Roots logo will be sold.  Bring checks or cash; the t-shirt will be $20, and the cap will be $10.  Help us congratulate the hosts of Arkansas Roots for five years of amazing programs.
KASU will be discussing other original programs, and we will be premiering a new one called Mr. Rogers’ Rock Collection.  Another original program is A-State Connections, hosted by Johnathan Reaves. It airs on Saturdays at 11 a.m. One elements of A-State Connections is the Create @ A-State podcast. This podcast will be celebrating its 25th episode in March.
KASU will also be spotlighting music events like the Arkansas Roots Music Festival April 13, the Newport concerts that begin May 21 and the Bluegrass Monday concert series.  No KASU function would be complete without music.  At the KASU Spring Spectacular, we are thrilled to have Cory Jackson provide acoustic music around 5:30 p.m.
Obviously, we have much to celebrate at KASU.  Whether it is spectacular contributors, spectacular programming or spectacular music events, we hope you will join us in this celebration.  If you would like to have reserved parking behind the library, email Doreen Selden, our corporate relations & underwriting director, at dselden@astate.edu by March 6, 2019.
