2.9 Magnatude Earthquake Detected in Caruthersville MO

Some residents in Pemiscot County, Missouri may have felt an earthquake Friday morning.
KFVS-TV reports that around 4:16 am Friday, the U. S. Geological Survey detected a 2.9 magnitude earthquake.

The epicenter was detected less than a mile south of Caruthersville and had a depth of 6.6 miles.

The USGS is asking residents to report if they felt the quake by going on to their website at earthquake.usgs.gov.
