April Leggett wins runoff for Jonesboro City Clerk

Jonesboro has elected a new city clerk.

Unofficial results from the Craighead County Clerks office shows that April Leggett defeated Linda Allison in the Tuesday general election runoff.

Leggett earned 57% (1,849) of the vote while Allison received nearly 43% (1,367).

Leggett will replace retiring City Clerk Donna Jackson who held the office for almost 30 years.

County election officials are expected to certify the general election results on December 11.
