Arkansas State Police say a Trumann woman died Tuesday morning after being hit by a truck in the rain on Interstate 555.
A police report said the accident happened near the 32-mile marker between Trumann and Bay in Craighead County.
The truck driver, 50 year old Jerry Stone of Bartlett, Tennessee, told authorities that she could not avoid hitting the woman, identified at April Sills, 38.
Stone said Sills was standing in the middle of the road with her arms outstretched.
Sills was taken to an area hospital where she died.
