Jonesboro's Veterans Village receives $60,000 donation
The City of Jonesboro this week received $60,000 to go towards the Veterans Village which is currently under construction.
The city posted on Facebook Wednesday that the monetary gift came from the Jonesboro Residential Housing and Healthcare Facilities Board.
Officials said city Grants Director Regina Burkett spent the day at the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration in Little Rock on Wednesday.
The city said the DFA was the first to donate $100,000 to get the neighborhood for homeless veterans off of the ground.
Content partners Talk Business and Politics reports that the $1.3 million project has received funding from many sources, including a donation from Attorney General Leslie Rutledge.
