In unofficial vote totals from the Arkansas Secretary of State's office, U.S. Representative Rick Crawford is expected to clinch the Republican nomination for the first Congressional district in the Arkansas primary - wining nearly 75% of the vote.
Crawford of Jonesboro faced two other challengers for his position on Tuesday: state Representative Brandt Smith and attorney Jody Shackelford - both also of Jonesboro.
Crawford was first elected to the seat in 2010 and serves on multiple committees, including the Committee on Agriculture and the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. He will face challenges by Democratic State Representative Monte Hodges and Independent candidate Roger B. Daugherty in November.
